Who We Serve

    Commercial Office

Commercial office space is unique since the Covid-19 pandemic. Spaces are now having to be more flexible than ever and leases are more short term. We design our solutions not with energy conservation in mind, but also with the flex space concept as a major focus. We want our clients’ office spaces to be more easily “flexed” than a traditional design or tenant improvement. Our non-proprietary approach allows for lower up-front costs, faster project timelines, and better long term outcomes as we match the product to the application.

Commercial office tenants are now more engaged with the environmental considerations and concerns of the facility they work in. We help our clients align with those sustainability concerns and utilize real-time data to promote their efforts to current and potential tenants and occupants. Our reports are based on utility grade measurement and verification hardware and software. They are meaningful, graphical, and impactful.

    Hospitality

Hotels and resorts are heavily seasonal and highly variable in load and consumption for energy. This makes them fantastic opportunities for energy conservation measures. Our approach to our hospitality clients is maximizing energy savings without negatively impacting guest experience and comfort. In fact, much of what we do has the natural side effect of improving the guest experience. Our contract and implementation team understand and respect the hospitality space and the interference factor for guest relations. We strive to be as non-intrusive and flexible as possible. We also help our hospitality clients with building their energy profile and reporting measurement and verification data for ESG compliance and improvement.

    Healthcare

Our healthcare clients are unique in their needs. Energy conservation cannot come at the cost of daily operations and Joint Commission requirements. Interruptions inpatient services and scheduling are also non-negotiable. We approach projects with these criteria in mind and because healthcare is such an energy intensive space, there are often enormous savings to be found even in MOBs and outpatient clinics. We routinely discover hospitals with out of control systems that are not running intelligently or as designed. Outside air (or lack thereof) and building pressurization issues with HVAC are major trends at many healthcare facilities. We will never recommend energy savings projects that negatively affect Joint Commission audits and patient or staff experience. Outside of energy savings projects, we are extremely experienced and proficient on a consultative level with evaluating HVAC systems, building automation, and lighting for best outcomes specific to the healthcare market.

    Retail

The impact of various energy conservation measures can not only affect the bottom line but can also be a positive and organic advertising campaign. Customers prefer to patronize green-conscious locations where they might be able to charge their electric vehicle while they are shopping for example. The impact to Net Present Value of our engineered projects can also be substantial and we work with each of our clients to drive this outcome where investors are involved.

    Education

As parents, children are important to us and so are their educators and their communities. Schools are too frequently left behind in the energy space. A side effect of this is uncomfortable learning environments and unnecessarily high utility costs. In many cases schools are not properly using outside air and utility bills are either high or CO2 buildup and recycled inside air is not being properly tempered with fresh air. This results in “stuffy” classrooms and has been shown to degrade attention and learning in students. We also help schools utilize allocated federal and state funds to maximize energy savings, maintenance costs, and comfort levels.

    Industrial

With high peak demand charges and easily isolated high energy consuming processes, the industrial space is often an easy place to make dramatic impacts to utility costs. Simple scheduling routines and equipment staging alone can make all the difference. Sites with high water consumption are also easily addressable areas without impacting production. We focus our HVAC outcomes heavily towards intelligent and specific maintenance diagnostics in order to reduce downtimes and especially unplanned downtimes. Humidity and temperature control as it relates to product quality and product loss is another element of our industrial audit process.

    Restaurants

Restaurants are some of the most energy intensive buildings on a square foot basis. Outside air and kitchen exhaust being improperly configured, controlled, or utilized account for much of a restaurant’s inefficiency. Walk-in coolers and freezers are also notorious energy efficiency loss leaders. We focus our restaurant clients towards simple measures for controlling these elements of their facility to maximize efficiency and comfort. Smart, actionable, and simple to understand diagnostics have also been an enormous value add for many of our restaurant clients. Knowing when critical HVAC equipment or walk-in coolers are improperly performing or failing makes all the difference around planning rather than reacting to these situations. This is particularly true for our franchisees who own multiple restaurants across many locations.

No capital outlay. No risk.
